  3. Light and Dark

    April 23, 2017 by aolusanya

Earlier this week we carried out an investigation to find out what was in these bags. We described the items we could feel using adjectives and guessed what they could be from our knowledge of textures and shapes.

After, we discussed how light from different light sources could illuminate the objects in the bag allowing us to see what was inside.

  4. UV Light: Before

    April 21, 2017 by aolusanya

This week in Science we have been learning all about Light. We carried out an investigation to find out the effects of UV light. We stuck card unto sugar paper with blue tack and placed the paper outside.

After a few days in the sun, we will remove the card to see the effect of UV light on sugar paper!

  5. Magnets

    March 24, 2017 by aolusanya

This week in Science we have been looking at magnets.

We investigated what would happen if we brought different poles from different magnets together.

We recorded our findings in a table.

  6. Fossilisation

    February 3, 2017 by aolusanya

We got into groups and created raps, poems, mimes and short drama pieces to help us remember the process.

  7. Our Rock Experiment

    January 27, 2017 by aolusanya

This week in 3O we have been looking at Rocks! We conducted experiments to find out whether our rocks were permeable or impermeable.

We also found out whether our rocks contained chalk by putting a drop of vinegar on them and watching whether or not the vinegar became fizzy.

We tested the hardness of the rocks by rubbing them on sandpaper and watching whether it left a mark!

Finally, we tested whether or not our rocks would float or sink in bowl of water.
